Tracking systems work by installing a small electronic device covertly into a vehicle using a combination of satellite GPS (Global Positioning System) and GSM mobile phone technology.

Once the SVR (Stolen Vehicle Recovery) system is fitted, it is usually forgotten about until the vehicle is moved without the owners consent. At this point the process of vehicle recovery begins. TRACKER Network products also transmit a radio frequency which all the UK’s 52 police forces can use to trace the vehicle.

The unit reads location information from the GPS satellite network and sends the position co-ordinates and other variables such as the speed of the vehicle and the time back via a mobile data network such as GSM or GPRS.

The VAM (Vehicle Assist Management) products are usually accessed more frequently to monitor vehicle movements and produce detailed reports. Road Angel Fleet products are unique in that they accurately record the vehicle odometer. Whilst primarily a VAM product, the Road Angel Fleet Locator can optionally ping the vehicle to report its current position making it a very affordable SVR products.
